What Is a Shaman?
"A shaman doesn't actually heal us; he or she simply helps us remove the blocks that are inhibiting our ability to heal ourselves." ~ Shipibo shaman from the Amazon
Shamans exist in many cultures all around the world. In simplest terms, shamans are medicine people that interact with the spirit world in order to bring balance or healing to the human world.
Shaman work within the body's luminous energy field (LEF) or more commonly known as the "aura." The LEF surrounds the physical body and holds the body's blueprint for function - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and psychically. The LEF contains an ongoing record of our life experiences or imprints. Imprints circulate in our LEF like seeds and when the conditions are right, the seed will take root and cause a pre-programmed response. This pre-programmed response leads to a looping behavior, one that repeats itself over and again. Examples of looping behavior include chronic illness, failed jobs, failed relationships, depression and/or emotional distress.
Shaman can remove these imprints or seeds from the LEF, eliminating the pre-programmed response which enables us to "rewrite" our programs and change the course of our future toward greater health, wealth and overall well-being.
Some basic practices a shaman provides include:
Illumination - clearing of the LEF by combusting toxic energy surrounding physical and emotional imprints;
Extraction - removal of crystallized energies in the LEF which are impossible to metabolize through the Illumination process;
Soul Retrieval - retrieval and restoration of a piece of the soul. Physical and/or emotional trauma can cause fragmentation of the soul thereby giving an individual a sense of something "missing" in their life, "damaged" or "shattered." Once the healed soul piece is restored, one may get a feeling of wholeness or the answer to an important question may become apparent.
Gift of Healed State - the shaman journeys to find the essence of the individual's healed state and gifts the memory to the LEF
Shamanic treatment provides an immediate energetic shift that may take days or weeks for intellectual understanding as opposed to months or years of psychotherapy.
What to expect
Everyone's response to energy work is different. Some people feel nothing. Others have emotional releases or physical responses in the form of feeling hot or cold, discomfort or heaviness. My approach is to gently support and guide you through the process using open communication. Healing can start a few days before the scheduled appointment as your energetic body prepares for change. This can come in the form of feeling tired, irritable, anxious or gastric distress. Honor this process with rest, avoidance of alcohol or mind-altering drugs. It is my intention that individuals receive no more healing than what is needed as guided by Spirit. Therefore, more than one session may be necessary to achieve desired results. On these occasions, please allow at least 2-4 weeks between visits. Distance treatments are also available upon request.
How to Prepare for Your Visit
* Please prepare a healing intention. Ask yourself 'What in your life is not in flow or out of balance? What do you really want to change in the healing session, and why is that meaningful?' Your healing intention is restoration of flow with that issue(s).
* Please get plenty of rest and avoid use of recreational drugs or alcohol 1-3 days prior to your appointment.
* Consider taking an Epsom salt bath at least once prior to your scheduled session with the intention of releasing toxic or heavy energy. Adding wildflowers to the bath water can further prepare your body for healing in a beautiful, gentle, loving manner.

Experience Reiki and Accelerate Your Body's Self-healing Abilities
By Carissa Zacharias
What is Reiki?
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki, which is "life force energy". Translated, it means,"spiritually guided life force energy."
Reiki is a simple and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki is a holistic, non-invasive stress reduction and relaxation therapy that engages the body’s natural healing abilities. It is a safe, natural, hands-on therapy that promotes healing on all levels. Reiki works to restore, revitalize, harmonize and balance your energetic and physical body. It is a subtle and effective form of energy healing which brings about healing on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.
Benefits of Reiki:
The benefits of Reiki can be used on absolutely anyone; young, old pregnant or the disabled. It can be used on animals, plants and all living and non-living things. Those who receive Reiki enjoy revitalization and healing at each level of well-being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Because the body knows which area are in need of healing or nurturing, your body is able to readily utilize Reiki’s energy where it is needed the most.
A Reiki Session:
A healing session is comfortable and non-invasive. Sessions are carried out with the client comfortably lying on a massage table, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner will lightly touch your body in a series of hand positions while you are relaxing. A healing session feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and around you. A state of deep relaxation, combined with general feeling of well-being is usually the most noticeable immediate effect of the session.
Learning Reiki:
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.
For many, receiving Reiki is the first step towards learning how to give Reiki to themselves and others. Learning Reiki can help you discover and strengthen your own innate healing ability. This is done through a series of learning “degrees” in which students progressively develop their ability to use Reiki. Whether you would like to use Reiki for your own use or would like to progress to the Master Level, classes are designed to guide students on their own Reiki journey and awaken their inner ability heal.
